Invisalign is a clear, comfortable and almost invisible alternative to metal braces. The aligners are so clear that virtually no one can tell you are wearing them!  Although the majority of Dr Duncan's patients are now treated with the Invisalign system, not all cases are suitable. 

Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and then changed to a new one. Having a slightly different tooth position, each new aligner gently guides the teeth into the desired position.

And there are health benefits too. Gum infection, gum growth (gingival hyperlasia), decalcification (white spots) and decay are all potential complications of braces treatment. With Invisalign you can remove your aligners, so you can brush and floss normally. And on top of this, early research also tends to indicate that there may be less or none of the more serious braces compications like root resorption (affects 3-4% of braces cases) and loss of tooth vitality (death of tooth nerve).

At the Straight Smile Centre, we understand it is sometimes difficult to make appointments during the day, due to work commitments or busy lifestyles, so we offer evening Invisalign consultation appointments. These consultation appointments are free and are with our Invisalign Treatment Coordinator Caroline.

Amongst other things, Caroline will discuss the Invisalign system and process, show you example aligners, and before and after photographs of patients who have neen treated in our practice. She will also discuss the different types of Invisalign (Full, Lite and Teen) and the fees and payment options available.
